Guildwide Depositary Box Idea
I searched the forums for any suggestions like this. I didn't see any that look as detailed as this, and I couldn't check many since this site always runs at snail-pace for me
Please let me know if there is something like this currently available in Guildwars. As far as I know, the only way for a guild to share something is for there to be a spare account used, or trades
The idea
The idea behind this is to allow people to leave items and gold behind for fellow guildies if they aren't around. An example may be some gold loaned to be payed back, or a weapon or just a general gift. I can remember countless times waiting for people to get online just to give them something back.
How it works
It would be added to the Guild Hall as an upgrade, just the same as the Merchant, or the Weapon Customiser. It could even be a Xunlai-Extension.
The Depositary Box would at first look very similar to storage. It would have a gold-counter in it, displaying any gold sitting in the Box, and a small section for items. To prevent people using this as an extra storage, this would have to be withdraw-items only, so you get the red-crossed circle when trying to drop items into it.
It would also have a button to "Withdraw Gold" and a second button labelled "Make a deposit". See below for a basic diagram.
Making a Deposit
Clicking the "Make Deposit" button would launch a new window. This would appear VERY like the trade window with 7 Item slots. However, there would be a dropdown list (similar to the District-selection list) which would allow you to choose which Guild Member to send the items/gold to.
This list would have to be categorised something like;
( Send to | V )
| -Guild Leaders Name
| --Officers Name
| --Officers Name
| --Officers Name
| ---Members Name
| ---Members Name
| ---Members Name
| ---Members Name
| ---Members Name
Once the items had been put in the box and the member selected, there would be a "Make Transfer" button. As always, there would be a Cancel button there too.
But what about scammers?
I have pondered the potential this gives to Scammers. An example might be person X stealing person Y's account details, transferring items and then leaving the Guild.
Simple solution...
History Button
This would be a 3rd button in the main window. When clicked, it would launch a list showing all the recent items sent, and the players they were sent to.
If a player had been scammed, he/she could simply Screenshot his/her recent Item Sending history and report to Anet. They could then investigate this.
But what about forwarding it then to another account to cover their tracks?
Again this could be a major problem. For this, I have only had one idea. Similar to forums, the system could have a "flood timer" that stops people from moving items they have recieved in again for another, example, 2 hours. Whilst this might not be long enough for players to come online and realise what had happened, it could be long enough to bore scammers, or for someone else to see them "loitering" afk around the Depositary NPC.
This flood timer should not be a problem for none-scamming players, since if someone is making a deposit, it likely means that the player recieving the items will be offline for at least 2 hours or more anyway. When they logged in, eg the next morning, they could pick their items or gold up without a problem.
Pros
- Easily sharing items with Guild Members.
- Doesn't require members to be online to make traders
- Saves purchasing a second account to use as "guild storage"
Cons
- Scamming potential. This is unlikely in Guilds, but may still happen.
All feedback on this idea is welcomed with open arms.
Thank you

I think most people attempt to suggest a "guild storage" which is why you probably never found anything under search. However, this idea is much more thought out than most of those threads.
In the end it comes down to how to stop guild hopping thieves/scammers. Most have figured it would be easiest to simply restrict access to officers or guild leaders. I think it would be safest to put a "friends" type list associated with the box, something that could back up the history. Only people the GL puts on the list can have access to the box.
My guild is rather small, so we don't usually need to leave stuff for each other(we tend to simply run into one another), but we do run into the occasional person who simply asks for too much(and would gladly raid a guild storage for everything its worth).
In a larger guild it would give the Guild leader the ability to designate his officers as having access as well as pinpointing non-officers that have been designated trustworthy.
And since I'm not trying to hijack your thread, I'll stop rambling now.
Anyway, /signed for your well thought out idea.(though with some sort of anti-scammer restrictions, of course)
But thats just my two cents

Like EVE Online - anybody can use the guild box/storage/vault but the game tracks the amount of money you've deposited and you can only withdraw that amount.
For items - when you drop an item in there for another member you assign a value to it (Black Dye: 8k). When the other member accepts it they validate that amount, which is added onto your 'credit'. Needless to say, you can only withdraw up to your 'credit value'.
Good idea!

You're right on the EVE part having a corporate wallet.
But before you can remotely introduce this to the GW world you'll need a whoooole lot more settings to the guild panel, accessibility issues and other various things.
Also, the 16,500$ heist springs to mind
So yes it's possible but judging GW has over 3 million players/accounts compared with the 130,000 EVE has then you'll see that this cannot be brought to a game where immaturity is blessed.

This doesnt work simply because whoever has access to those funds at any given time can remove them from the bank, disband or leave the guild, and go ebay crazy..
Although Im not opposed to larger personal storage.

Yeah, which is why there'd be a system that tracks what you've contributed.

Maybe officers should run the bank if people are scarred of scams.
And one question, what if you put a weapon in there or something that you want EVERYBODY to u se. But then one person slips and goes to the weapons guy and clicks CUSTOMIZE. Uh oh.... what will happen then?

Well, back to my original statement. Unless the officers in your guild are your close personal friends, literally, you could go visit them in person any time. Whats to stop them from withdrawing your hard earned guild bank full of cash and selling it on ebay for a few hundred dollars. People do desperate things for cash sometimes.
But I guess this system would be ok, if you have a trust issue then dont deposit funds into it. The amount of in game credits you can personally hold is more than 99% of the items in game cost anyway, I dont see a need for a guild funds bank.
Again, more storage for items would be nice.. I have 583490 different stacks of booze and christmas items in my inventory that are just too neat to get rid of, but are really taking up space for my unique items collection.
You can only have so many mules...

But even if they DO withdraw money and sell it on Ebay they can only withdraw what they've contributed...
